Cary Baronian is the Director of Research at Heritage Wealth Advisors. She focuses on investment research, the formation of Heritage’s financial market views, and the positioning of client portfolios.
As a partner at Heritage, Cary is deeply involved with building and managing a robust Investment Advisory Services platform. She also collaborates closely with the Senior Wealth Advisors to deliver optimal investment solutions to clients based on a thorough understanding of their long-run objectives, short-term liquidity needs, tax situation, and investment preferences.
Risk management is central to Cary’s investment philosophy. She believes one should only take the risks necessary to achieve one’s goals. Cultivating a desire to compound capital over long periods of time, she strives to build and manage portfolios that can withstand a downturn in the market as well as participate in a positive market.
Cary embraces the core values of Heritage, in particular, passion and intellectual curiosity. She loves to dig in and analyze every angle of a challenge to determine the best path forward.
Cary is proud of her career path and trajectory, which includes positions at Morgan Stanley in New York and Spider Management Company, and Xenith Bank in Richmond, Virginia. She began her career as an Analyst and Portfolio Manager. Since she joined Heritage in 2016, she has served as a Senior Analyst and received a promotion to Research Manager followed by her current role.
Cary is a member of the Investment Advisory Board, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR), and the Board of Directors for The First Tee of Greater Richmond. She is also an active member of the Estate Planning Council of Richmond and Leadership Advisory Council, CFA Society of Virginia.
Cary earned her Bachelor of Science in Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from the University of Virginia (UVA). She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®).
In her free time, she enjoys playing golf and cheering on the UVA basketball team.
