Jay joined Heritage because he saw an opportunity to leverage over 30 years of collective knowledge that aligned with his passion for building lasting relationships with families, extending beyond the institutional investment world. His favorite part of his role at Heritage is working with smart clients who challenge him, creating a mutually-beneficial relationship where both parties can learn and grow.
Before joining Heritage, Jay worked as a portfolio manager for twelve years at Eagle Asset Management with macroeconomic, industry, and individual stock selection responsibilities over a large capitalization equity portfolio. Prior to that, he worked at Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley LLC for just under a decade. His work at both institutions helped him gain a foundational understanding of long-term investing as well as pointed him toward his true passion in his career.
Jay is a member of the Board of Trustees for Elk Hill Farm and is a member of the Elk Hill Foundation Board. In addition to youth services, Jay is heavily involved with the University of Virginia Medical Foundation, serving as both the secretary of the board, and the retiring chair of the investment committee.
